About D&T

Tahlia Merrill
Fairy Godmother in Training
Welcome to Diamonds and Toads! We are a blog devoted to the celebration of everything fairy tale!

D&T was started in 2006 by Kate Wolford, a professor at Indiana University of South Bend, who teaches a class on fairy tales. She created the site primarily for her students, but it soon grew into the thriving community it is today.

In 2009, Kate launched Enchanted Conversation: A Fairy Tale Magazine, which publishes several issues online every year, featuring fairy tale themed short stories and poems. (NOTE: We call the magazine EC for short). Due to EC's immense success, she handed over Diamonds and Toads to her faithful assistant Tahlia Merrill in September 2011, who is now writing this post in third person, which quite honestly, feels a little strange.

About me: I'm a recent graduate from Westmont College who had some short stories published in Enchanted Conversation before becoming EC's social media intern. I started out running the magazine's facebook page and now I'm here! If you want to know the long story, click here to go to my first blog post on this site where I introduced myself.

When I'm not hanging out with my Fairy Folk on D&T (we're into acronyms here), I write young adult science fiction novels, but I also have a passion for editing, so I'm trying to break into the publishing business. To read about my adventures in writing-land, you can check out my personal blog.

I hope you enjoy the site! Don't hesitate to leave us a comment introducing yourself. I love to hear from our readers!

If you want to contact me, I'm a very prompt email responder: TzarinaMystra@gmail.com.
