One of the great joys of blogging is noticing other people's blog and getting hooked on what they have to offer. The Fairy Tale Channel, authored by Rapunzel, is one such effort. It's jam-packed with fairy tales about Christmas, fairy tales from Egypt, obscure tales, religious tales -- even a recipe! Here's a special one to take a look at: "What is a Fairy Tale?" However, "Rapunzel's" blog offers one of the most widely ranging collections of fairy tales. Please take a look.

PS: I love Claire Massey's Fairy Tale Cupboard. It's got a new, fabulous look and features a comprehensive look on the Big, Bad Wolf. Check it out.

Thanks for the lovely mention Kate :-)I always enjoy The Fairy Tale Channel too.
Well you know it has become fascinating to me to learn that the fairy tales as I have been taught since my youth were not true at all. I have come to understand a great deal of disturbing things about them. As I began this class at the beginning of January, I was ready fairy tales to my girls at night.
After learning about the misconceptions and untruths of them, it is truly hard to proceed with reading them to my girls. I refuse to go on telling those lies anymore.
My girls deserve better from their father. I was aghast to learn that things that I have believed for so long and held dear to my heart and believed I so much was total fiction for the most part. I have no idea what I will read to my girls at this point as the only thing that I, myself, can hold as total truth to my perception is the “Holy Bible”.
