Hello New Friends!I thought I'd tell you a little about D&T, and its sister site, EnchantedConversation.org.
* This whole thing started three years ago, as an outgrowth of teaching a class on fairy tales and writing at Indiana University South Bend. I still teach writing there, full time, and I am blessed with fantastic students. In fact, when you see long comments filled with analysis and wisdom, well, you may be reading a post by one of my students. It's not that non-students don't do the same fabulous thing, but students have to! I can honestly say that teaching my class on fairy tales at IUSB doesn't even seem like work. Especially this semester.
* I won't be holding lots of writing contests here. Probably just one during the summer, to keep the blog zipping along. But if writing is your thing, please check out EnchantedConversation.org. It is a real, paying market for poems, stories, etc., that focus on fairy tales. Also, it will feature contests when it debuts Jan. 1, 2010. Aspiring writers, please check it out. We definitely accept work from previously unpublished writers. We don't need any fiction or poetry at the moment, but do check out the submission guide anyway, because we will be taking new submissions in the new year.
* I read every single comment I get.
* You will not see ads here. It is a blog that is used for a class, so no ads! But remember, this blog is also for every fairy tale lover out there.
Welcome!

Super blog.
Well done !
What a lovely blog! I'm new to the blogging world, and a university student in far away arizona but I will definitely read this! I also must say I felt a pull of nostalgia when I saw you were in South Bend, Indiana. I lived there as a child for 3 years when my dad taught at Notre Dame, and beyond the fact that there were more fields of corn than anything else, I loved it there! Can't wait to read all your blog has to offer. : )
I'm so glad they decided to make this blog a Blog of Note or I may've never found it! This is just wonderful and I can't wait to read more :)
